Thank you for visiting Allwood Building Company. My name is Blaine Umphrey and I am the owner/founder of Allwood Building Company. I grew up in Muskoka Lakes with both my parents, older sister, and younger brother. I went to a small elementary school and completed high school in the town of Bracebridge.
Growing up, I always had a passion for carpentry. The skill came very naturally to me the older I got which lead me to winning several awards and scholarships for my work through my teenage years. My love for carpentry comes quite honestly as it has been in my blood for 2 generations. My grandfather started his construction company about 40 years ago in Muskoka Lakes and my father followed about 20 years later with his construction company. So as you can see, Allwood Building Company has strong roots in the carpentry business and Muskoka Lakes area.
Along with my family history in carpentry around the Muskoka Lakes area, I also have spent some time doing carpentry in Kelowna, British Columbia. I completed my Red Seal Carpentry at Georgian College where I was fortunate enough to meet my wife. We now have a daughter, brown lab, and recently finished constructing our dream home on Muskoka Lakes.
